About REC 2026
32 University teams with over 300 total students are engineering and building amusement rides for candy riders. The teams are split into an East Division and a West Division.
About the Judging Process
Each Judge will score one section for all 16 teams in one division.
Reports and technical documents are scored Online before the competition event in 2 distinct waves starting March 9th and March 30th.
Ride Functionality, Service, and Theme are scored at the competition event on April 11th.
A single judge may score multiple sections or divisions but must score all 16 teams for the scores to be valid.
Teams earn every point they get, and our goal is to allow you to give as much detailed feedback as possible.
Judging Perks
All judges will receive a resume book of students that submit, and gain access to all deliverables.
Judges may participate in our optional REC 2026 Discord server to interact with teams and participate in their design reviews.
About the Competition Event
Teams and some available Judges attend our final competition event in-person at Hershey Lodge on April 11, 2026, where teams operate their rides and present their functionality and theme. Judges may participate online only, in-person only, or both.
Event Judge Perks
Attending Event Judges will enjoy a provided lunch and have access to our hotel block rate at Hershey Lodge.
Join hundreds of students and see all the rides in operation!
