Frequently Asked Questions
The Ride Engineering Competition offers University students a chance to demonstrate real-world engineering practices within the industry focus of ride engineering and design. Student teams will design, plan, and manufacture an attraction for small riders based on a prompt that includes a plot of land and desired rider experience. Competitors in the Ride Engineering Competition engage in real engineering practices from the Amusement Industry including:

REC is spearheaded by our Board of Directors and operates via the support of a team of young professionals.
Each year, we typically release our rulebook/prompt and open registration in early Fall. Our season culminates with our in-person competition in early April.
